Case Shape and Material:

Fine solid yellow gold tanq style 2 piece press fit case 33mm L x 25mm wide in very good  condition. Inner case back marked "L.U.C." in a bone shaped design and then "L.U. Chopard & CIE Geneva" on inside of case back with an Helvetia stamp and "18K .750" the Swiss hallmark for 18K solid gold.

Hi grade 17 jewel Chopard signed manual wind gilted movement, with Fausses cote decoration.  

Movement Type: Swiss ETA 17 jewel calibre 2512

Movement Condition: very good, sets, runs and keeps time but not recently serviced.

Timing Data: 40+ hours

Dial:  White painted dial with outer black painted roman hour track and inner rectangle minutes track in good condition signed "Tiffany & Co." under the 12 position.

The dial is an original  dial AND NOT REFINISHED but has an edge repair to the right edge which was needed in order to protect the paint from chipping. The repair was made so that it is not visible at all when the movement is inside the case. The 8th photo shows the movement outside of the case and the added protective repair on the right edge. Edge deterioration is common in tank case designs because the case puts pressure on the edge of the dial thereby causing deterioration of the dial paint.  The last two photos show a similar Chopard tank (which I found incidentally on eBay) that did not get a dial edge repair and shows the resulting loss of dial paint at the edge from chipping. If you are uncomfortable with this necessary and protective repair DO NOT BID. 

Hands: black thin sword style hands, good

Crystal: mineral glass good condition with a few moderate scratches

Band: Non Chopard NOS JB Champion black lizard grain band fits wrist sizes to 7 inches.

Box:  New display box suitable for gifting in good condition.

Notes:

Very fine vintage 1960s Chopard tank watch in 18k yellow gold in a two part case compares to Cartier tank Louis Cartier. Watch is in very nice condition running well and ready to wear. Dial has minor repair at right edge (see 9th photo). A similar Chopard tank watch is shown in the last two photos which in contrast to the watch described in this listing has dial edge damage that was not repaired and shows paint loss from chipping.
